Planetary and Biosphere
Origins and Evolution
We investigate how planetary environments and energy
flows can drive the emergence, evolution, and long-term
persistence of life. Our goal is to develop conceptual
frameworks and reduced mathematical models that
connect planetary conditions, prebiotic chemistry,
the origin and evolution of biospheres, and their
possible distribution in the Galaxv.
Key Research Questions

1. Planetary Productivity
2.Emergence of Life

3. Biosphere Persistence

Which planetary conditions
and energy flows can sustain
productive prebiotic chemistry?
How can chemical networks
become self-maintaining,
reproductive, and capable
of evolution?
What conditions allow
emerging life to expand into
stable planetary biospheres
over geological timescales?
Research Approach

Nonequilibrium Thermodynamics
Investigate energy flows,
chemical self-organization,
and planetary productivity
corridors.
Evolutionary Dynamics
Model transitions from persistent
chemical networks to hereditary
and evolving systems.
Planetary and Galactic Modeling
Develop reduced models of
biosphere emergence, maturation,
persistence, and possible
distribution in the Galaxy.
Current Status and Collaboration

In the current phase, we are developing
theoretical frameworks and reduced
mathematical models of planetary
productivity, chemical organization,
and biosphere emergence and evolution.
